Overview

This Glentek Spindle Inverter is a Universal Drive and Fadal Replacement Spindle Drive that can be used in all Fadal CNC Machines. Its drive is specifically designed to improve the performance of standard three-phase induction motors and CNC Machines, offering 5hp-20hp.

This Glentek Universal Spindle Drive works by utilizing flux vector technology and a Digital Signal Processor (DSP). This spindle drive creates a precise torque feedback loop for the motor. As a result, the motor exhibits servo motor-like performance, offering precise speed control from zero to base speed and beyond. Through continuous calculations of flux and torque vectors, the drive maintains a constant 90-degree phase difference between them, enabling efficient torque control. This control spans from standstill to full speed without excessive current draw.

The drive can operate in sensorless mode, eliminating the need for external feedback. This mode can be used in inverter mode or VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) mode, further optimizing the motor's efficiency. The Glentek is equipped with advanced mathematical algorithms and state-of-the-art DSP technology, ensuring a smooth and steady starting torque. The applied frequency and voltage are gradually increased in a controlled manner, allowing the motor to accelerate the load efficiently.

Intended Application

The Glentek Universal Spindle Drive spindle drive (Part number: INV-0098G) is designed to be a drop-in replacement for Fadal Engineering VMC's spindle drives. You can easily install it without any modifications.
