The BEL-0002 belt is integral to the operation of the spindle motor in VMC15 machines. 

It employs a 1 to 1 pulley ratio, translating one turn of the motor into one turn of the spindle. This belt system was utilized before the introduction of cogged belts and features two selectable ranges: high and low. By manually adjusting the belt position, operators could switch between the high range (1 to 1 ratio) and the low range (2 to 1 ratio). 

In the low range, the spindle operated at a maximum of 3750 rpm, offering double the torque compared to the high range.
